For many years now, PROSIGN has been active
in promoting environmental conservation in the fields of
air and soil quality and health protection. PROSIGN, in
conjunction with the UIC, an association of French chemical
companies, is committed to sustainable development through
"responsible care in the chemical industry for the improvement
of safety, health and environmental protection".
On a day-to-day basis, PROSIGN designs solvent-free products
that are toxic neither for the environment nor for those who
handle them.

Many of its products carry
the French "NF-ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY" label for
road markings, particularly water-based paints and single-component
cold-applied sealants that are safe for both people and
the environment. This is the case of Typhon, a paint developed
by PROSIGN. It was awarded 2nd prize in the "Eco Produit
2000" competition organised by the French chambers of
commerce and industry and the "NF-Environnement" label
for road marking products.

PROSIGN water-based paints
do not contain glycol ether or other dangerous substances.
As a result, PROSIGN is able to protect the health of
its staff not only in its production facilities, but also
during the application of its products.

PROSIGN has also optimised
the transport of its products by using piggyback rail
freight (combined rail/road transport) to minimise risks
relating to the transport of dangerous materials and waste.

To reduce waste and its corresponding treatment
costs as well as pollution, PROSIGN has developed the following

to reduce the quantity of waste (SAKAPO®, PLASTIPOCHE®,
etc.) and large 300 kg recyclable containers.

PROSIGN adheres to the corporate environment
plan developed by ADEME, the French agency for the environment
and energy resources, and has been awarded ISO 14001 certification in 2001.
PROSIGN shares its experience with its customers, project managers,
contracting authorities, manufacturers and the public during
training sessions on the environment and the environmental management
of marking products.
